Hedersoscar till Peter O'Toole
Peter O'Toole spelade huvudrollen i David Leans klassiker Lawrence of Arabia, en roll som han också oscarnominerades för. Totalt har han oscarnominerats 7 gånger för bästa manliga huvudroll.
Följande filmer oscarnominerades O'Toole för: "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962), "Becket" (1964), "The Lion in Winter" (1968), "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (1969), "The Ruling Class" (1972), "The Stunt Man" (1980) och "My Favorite Year" (1982).Inskriptionen på oscarstatyetten lyder "Peter O'Toole - whose remarkable talents have provided cinema history with some of its most memorable characters." Förra årets vinnare var Sidney Poitier. Tidigare har bland annat Chaplin, Fellini och Renoir tilldelats hedersoscarn. Akademins definition av priset lyder: Honorary Awards are given by the Academy for "exceptional distinction in the making of motion pictures or for outstanding service to the Academy." Oscargalan äger rum den 23 mars 2003.
